This is a little bit of a coming of age love story with heart wrenching emotion and terrifying events. It begins when the two main characters are teenagers and witness a horrific car crash. The aftermath has serious and far reaching consequences and it tears the young lovers apart. Many years later, they are re-united but as the events of so long ago come crashing back to wreak havoc once more, their future looks uncertain. There is so much gut wrenching emotion in this story and I had to put the book down for a little while before continuing reading. It’s intense and painful at times but also heartwarming to see their struggles be rewarded with a bit of hope and the promise of deep love.
As with all the author’s books, it is well written with deeply emotional and engaging characters. You get caught up in their lives, their hopes and dreams and at times want to scream at them for behaving like idiots. The mystery of what happened when that car crashed will have you so turned around you won’t see the culprit coming.
Read it — you won’t be disappointed.
